The rules for using Places Beyond Reality and the account features around the atlas.
1. Agreement to these Terms
These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of Places Beyond Reality, an interactive atlas of extraordinary locations, including the website, maps, editorial content, account features, newsletters, and saved place lists.
By accessing the service, creating an account, or using any feature of Places Beyond Reality, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the service.
2. Who may use the service
You must be able to form a legally binding contract in your jurisdiction to use the service. If you use Places Beyond Reality on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under your account.
3. What Places Beyond Reality provides
Places Beyond Reality provides discovery-oriented editorial and visual information about unusual and surreal places around Earth. The service may include location pages, collections, interactive maps, videos, wallpapers, newsletter content, account settings, and saved lists.
The service is for inspiration, research, and entertainment. It is not a travel agency, booking platform, tour operator, safety advisor, or source of official travel, legal, medical, visa, or access guidance. Conditions at real-world locations change, and you are responsible for verifying current access rules, local laws, safety requirements, environmental restrictions, and travel conditions before visiting any place.
4. Accounts and authentication
Some features require an account. You agree to provide accurate information, keep it current, and use authentication providers and account features lawfully.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, abuse the service, create security risk, attempt to bypass limits, or use the service in a way that harms Places Beyond Reality, other users, infrastructure, or third parties.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the service or interfere with its operation.
- Do not attempt to bypass authentication, rate limits, security controls, or access restrictions.
- Do not upload, store, transmit, or link to unlawful, infringing, abusive, deceptive, or harmful material.
- Do not use the service to distribute malware, spam, phishing attempts, or other malicious activity.
- Do not reverse engineer, overload, disrupt, or probe the service except as permitted by law.
6. Content and third-party materials
The service may include text, images, videos, maps, place data, links, and other materials from editorial, public, licensed, user-provided, or third-party sources.
Some images, videos, maps, place data, or third-party materials may be provided by external services, creators, or licensors and remain subject to their own rights, licenses, and terms.
- If you believe any material on the service violates copyright, license terms, image rights, trademark rights, or other usage rights, contact us at support@placesbeyondreality.com with the page URL, a description of the material, your rights or authority, and the reason you believe use is not permitted.
- We may remove, replace, restrict, or review reported material while we evaluate the request.
7. User content and saved lists
If the service lets you create saved lists, names, notes, preferences, or other user content, you remain responsible for that content. You allow us to host, store, process, display, and use it as necessary to operate and improve the service.
You must not submit content that infringes rights, violates law, contains sensitive personal information you are not authorized to provide, or creates risk for other users or the service.
8. Third-party services
Places Beyond Reality may rely on third-party services for hosting, analytics, authentication, maps, media, newsletters, and other infrastructure. We are not responsible for third-party services, websites, policies, outages, or content that we do not control.
9. Availability and changes
We may modify, pause, or discontinue parts of the service at any time. We aim to keep the atlas available and accurate, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access, permanent availability of any feature, or that all information will be error-free or current.
10. Disclaimers
The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Places Beyond Reality disclaims warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, and security.
Any decision to travel to, access, photograph, climb, swim in, or otherwise visit a real-world location is entirely your responsibility. You should consult official sources and qualified professionals where appropriate.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Places Beyond Reality will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, service interruption, travel losses, injury, property damage, or third-party claims arising from your use of the service.
Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability for claims relating to the service will be limited to USD 100 to the fullest extent permitted by law.
12. Termination
You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, create risk, or if we discontinue the service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including disclaimers and limitations of liability.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify users, such as updating the date on this page or providing notice through the service. Continued use after changes become effective means you accept the updated Terms.
14. Contact
